August Chill

August 24, 2015 — 2 Comments

A Poem for the Season

Give thanks to the leaves

Of the August breeze

Under covered sky!

*

And to the cool gust

That entices lust

For a warmth so mild!

*

Curse he who compares

Rabid summer stares

To near autumn smiles!

*

Praise the chilly din:

The invitation

To go back inside!

*

And so to the snow

In memory’s glow,

In fast future’s sight!
