Summer Update: Peru and First Vows

Today I head to Lima, Peru, for a five week trip! Staying in the Jesuit house for philosophers, I’ll attend social science classes, visit Jesuit ministries, engage in service, and learn from the local community about their customs, their struggles, and their dreams for the future. The visit will be an excellent opportunity to practice Spanish and to engage in intercultural dialogue.

However, as much as Peru is going to be exciting, fun, and challenging, the real “event” of the summer will be the “first vow ceremony,” at which I’ll make a commitment to lifelong poverty, chastity, and obedience. I’ll also promise to remain in the Society of Jesus {Jesuits} until death. It’s a big promise, but I feel strongly that God is calling me in that direction.

All are welcome to attend the vow ceremony in St. Paul, MN. Here is the schedule:

Friday, August 12:

Picnic at 1035 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN, 4-8 PM

Prayer Service at 1079 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN, 8-9 PM

Saturday, August 13:

Vow Mass at 1079 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN, 9-1O:3O AM

Vow Brunch, 1O AM

Gathering for family and friends following the vow brunch, Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park, 10360 West River Road, Brooklyn Park, MN 55444

Please pray for me as I travel and as I prepare to become a vowed Jesuit.

Best wishes,
David J.W. Inczauskis, n.S.J.

May the blessings of the Lord be upon you throughout your travels and as you continue your preparation for your vows. We are honored to attend your vow ceremony. We’ve already marked our calendar. With our love and prayers always, Bev, Jim, and Tad
