“Over the course of my conversations with Jesuit Father Simon Bishop at Oxford, it became clear that his personal relationship with Christ was the sole source of his joy. I wanted what he had.”
(My vow class shortly after we professed perpetual poverty, chastity, and obedience)
The providence staff asked me to share the story of my call to the Jesuits as part of a series called “A Heart on Fire.”
Here is the link to the article.

Hi David,
If you grew up in Illinois, how did Wake Forest end up being your college of choice ?
It is a great college, just wondering how you ended there.
You have a fine and relaxed writing style. I wish America Magazine would ask you
to write for them, perhaps an article on your experience in Honduras would make a nice essay.
I would suggest you add to your studies – Economics/Immigration Law and if you have time, Basic Nursing as being able to understand where the Economy of a Nation/World
is going will allow you to understand better why some people are desperately poor,
Immigration Law will allow you to help Immigrants understand their rights and as you can see – just knowing simple medicine helps in places where there are no medical facilities.
Thank You for devoting your life to Jesus.
